President Masoud Pezeshkian said that his administration has empowered provincial governors with the necessary authority and is prepared to delegate additional powers needed to advance and enhance economic activities.
During his visit to Zanjan on Thursday, President Pezeshkian met with economic activists, emphasizing that producers are the cornerstone of Iran's economy, highlighting his administration's responsibility to support them.
He also stressed that sufficient authority has been granted to provinces to enable them to act swiftly and transparently in decision-making and execution.
Pezeshkian further mentioned that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has also underscored the importance of granting necessary powers to provincial officials, ensuring that governor generals can effectively carry out executive responsibilities. The president asserted that each province should manage its own income and expenditures to maintain transparency in financial matters.
Referring to Iran’s renewable energy project, he announced plans to operate nearly 30,000 megawatts of solar panels, with 7,000 megawatts already purchased and installed by the administration. Furthermore, an additional 25,000 megawatts are currently under development by private sector investors.
Pezeshkian urged provinces to collaborate in installing solar panels on government offices and buildings to maximize energy efficiency nationwide and fully address the electricity shortage issue.
Furthermore, the President emphasized the significance of collaboration and the necessity of creating a comprehensive roadmap that involves the government, producers, and universities to tackle the challenges faced by producers, particularly in the aftermath of the recent war imposed by the Israeli regime.
Before his speech, several significant industrial, health, and residential projects in Zanjan were inaugurated via video conference. Among them was the Khamseh Mineral Processing Plant, which boasts an annual production capacity of 70,000 tons of steel and casting products. This project, with an investment of approximately fifteen million dollars, is expected to create direct employment for one hundred and forty individuals.
Additionally, the president issued an order to fill the Blubin Dam, which is designed to supply drinking water to the cities of Zarinabad, Halab, and 92 villages, marking it as one of the key infrastructure projects in water supply.
The expansion of Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Zanjan, recognized as the charitable project of Rajabali Moghadam, was another initiative inaugurated by the president.
Furthermore, Pezeshkian inaugurated the Zanjan Burn Center, which covers an area of 6,788 square meters.
