International rights of states cannot be taken away through war or threats: President Pezeshkian

In response to a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron, President Pezeshkian said on Saturday that Iran is prepared to engage in talks and cooperate for confidence-building. However, he asserted that the Islamic Republic will never accept a complete halt to uranium enrichment and will respond more forcefully and decisively to the ongoing aggression of the Zionist regime.

He highlighted that, during his presidency, he has advocated for strengthening cooperation with all nations based on mutual trust and respect. However, he noted that the Zionist regime assassinated former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on the first day of his tenure.

This pattern of aggression has persisted, with the regime continuing to attack Iran and violate international regulations, the president said, adding that the Zionist regime seeks to destabilize the region.

According to the president, based on a decree from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iran will never pursue nuclear weapons and is ready to guarantee the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities. However, the Islamic Republic will not compromise on its rights regarding nuclear capabilities.

The president also stated that the Zionist regime’s assaults on Iran demonstrate that the nation's defense capabilities must be non-negotiable. He reiterated that peace and security can only be achieved through mutual trust and respect, but the regime must be contained.

President Pezeshkian affirmed that Iran is ready for negotiations and dialogue to resolve issues; however, any discussions and preconditions must be framed within the context of international laws and regulations.

In response, President Macron emphasized that France did not participate in or support Israel's military actions against Iran, asserting that, from France's perspective, any attack on civilian and non-nuclear facilities is condemned.

Macron reiterated that France's efforts are focused on halting military conflicts and reducing tensions. Paris respects the integrity and sovereignty of all nations and believes that influencing the sovereignty of countries through pressure and threats is not a viable solution, he added.
