President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the Iranian people should feel that the country's health system is concerned about addressing their needs and that individuals facing financial difficulties must receive improved healthcare in hospitals.
President Pezeshkian made these remarks during a meeting with heads of medical science universities on Thursday, noting that they can play a key role in supporting the administration to improve the quality of health services across the country.
He warned that neglecting the healthcare of impoverished individuals could lead to problems; thus, both the administration and society expect better health services.
The 14th administration plans to encourage public participation and foster intersectoral cooperation to ensure equitable health distribution, as the general policies conveyed by the Supreme Leader emphasize this objective, Pezeshkian added.
He also highlighted the expanded activities of health centers across the country, noting that these centers must become the main hubs for healthcare services.
The president emphasized the necessity of creating referral centers in hospitals and utilizing modern methods, including virtual care services. He advocated for improving the quality of healthcare services and increasing both the quantity and quality of health professionals.
Furthermore, Pezeshkian noted that his administration will be able to advance its programs related to housing, employment, healthcare, livelihood, and education if the public supports and participates in these initiatives.
