President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that his administration is dedicated to promoting Iran’s performing arts to the fullest extent possible.

Administration committed to enhancing performing arts: President Pezeshkian

This statement came during a meeting with renowned Iranian artist Ali Nasirian at his residence in Tehran on Thursday evening, coinciding with World Theatre Day.

Expressing his satisfaction with the discussion, President Pezeshkian addressed the pressing issue of insufficient spaces for the practice and performance of artistic groups.

The 14th administration will certainly strive to provide the necessary facilities for this sector through collaboration, ensuring that art students can take advantage of cultural centers and other resources available from the government and municipalities, Pezeshkian emphasized.

In response, Nasirian highlighted the essential role of art in society, asserting that art and culture are integral to people's identity and serve as a vital outlet for public expression.

He noted that while some critics accuse the artistic community of portraying a grim outlook, the truth is that artists are fundamentally tasked with demonstrating societal problems and shortcomings.

At the conclusion of the meeting, which took place during the Persian New Year (Nowruz), President Pezeshkian presented the esteemed artist with a valuable calligraphic painting and a carpet tapestry.
