Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that the Islamic Republic consistently advocates for peace, convergence, and stability in the region, particularly among neighboring nations, while highlighting the importance of maintaining the territorial integrity of all countries.
President Pezeshkian made these remarks during a phone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Sunday. The two leaders discussed various issues of mutual interest, including recent developments in the Caucasus region, such as the agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan to engage in discussions regarding a peace accord.
Pezeshkian emphasized the strong and growing relationship between Iran and Armenia, stressing the need to expedite the implementation of their mutual agreements.
In response, Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed gratitude to the Islamic Republic for its constructive role in supporting the peace agreement. He reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to continuing negotiations and consultations to facilitate the implementation of the accord and enhance regional ties.
Pashinyan also praised President Pezeshkian’s efforts in strengthening bilateral relations, expressing Armenia’s determination to realize their shared agreements.
