Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian described governor generals as the Islamic Republic's key assets in overcoming external pressures and sanctions.
Speaking at a meeting with governor generals from all provinces of Iran on Saturday, the president emphasized that the authorities, particularly the governor generals, can significantly contribute to alleviating the burdens imposed by foreign forces.
He stated, “It is absolutely unacceptable for our economy to be unsettled by the words and claims of an individual on the other side of the world. With your determination, effort, and insights into the capacities of the provinces - especially the border provinces - we can effectively tackle these challenges.”
President Pezeshkian underscored the importance of granting governor generals greater authority to advance their initiatives. He noted that the delegated authority and facilitation of connections between border provinces would enable the governor generals to provide substantial assistance in addressing the nation’s issues.
He identified security, healthcare, education, livelihood, and housing as the main priorities of his administration, urging governor generals to focus their programs on resolving housing challenges.
Additionally, he highlighted the need for qualitative improvements in educational methods in schools, asserting that enhancing the quality of education is crucial for strengthening social capital across the country.
Regarding the administration's efforts to expedite the implementation of the Rasht-Astara railroad, the president stressed the importance of making serious efforts to finalize this project, which is essential for completing transportation corridors in Iran.
