The Supreme Council of Economic Coordination extended authority of Iran’s Market Regulation Headquarters until the end of the next Iranian year (March 20, 2026).

Authority of Iran’s Market Regulation Headquarters extended for one year

The council convened on Saturday, hosted by President Masoud Pezeshkian and attended by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei.

During the meeting, the three heads of government branches, along with other members of the council, unanimously voted to empower the Market Regulation Headquarters to oversee the prices of goods and services in the Islamic Republic.

The members also discussed the settlement of the remaining $146 million from the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX mechanism. The council decided to allocate this amount to the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education as part of its overall budget.

The council also agreed to extend its 89th resolution concerning regarding the completion of phases 2 and 3 of the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
