Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday chaired a meeting aimed at accelerating the implementation of renewable energy projects for power generation across the country.
Officials from the Energy Ministry and several bodies including the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization, as well as the Plan and Budget Organization presented reports on the measures taken so far to implement a government plan to build power plants with a capacity of at least 30,000 MW of electricity production.
Having heard their reports, President Pezeshkian said that the main aim is to achieve a capacity of power generation that helps effectively manage consumption during the peak period next summer.
The best way to achieve that aim is to establish a consortium, led by the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization, to purchase solar panels required by all the companies intending to join the construction projects of solar power plants.
Pezeshkian said that the consortium should supply the latest and most suitable solar panels and power plant equipment with the highest quality and at the lowest price, and distribute them among the companies executing the projects.
