Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, who is on a visit to Tajikistan, was officially welcomed by his counterpart Emomali Rahmon in the capital Dushanbe on Thursday morning.
The official welcoming ceremony took place at the Palace of the Nation, which is the official residence of the president of Tajikistan.
During the ceremony, the national anthems of the two countries were played. Then, 21 cannon shots were fired in honor of Pezeshkian's visit to the country. After that, the two presidents reviewed the Ceremonial Guard.
After the ceremony, Pezeshkian and Rahmon began private talks that are followed by negotiations between high-ranking delegations from both countries.
The two presidents are set to oversee a ceremony for the signing of cooperation documents, and then hold a joint press conference.
Pezeshkian will wrap up his trip to Tajikistan on Friday morning when he will depart for Moscow for an official visit at the invitation of President Vladmir Putin.
