Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian visited the 14th Specialized Exhibition of Agriculture and Related Industries in the city of Bojnourd, the capital of North Khorasan Province.
The president toured the exhibition on Thursday morning, the second day of his visit to the northeastern province. North Khorasan is the second destination of provincial trips by Pezeshkian since he took office in late July.
While touring the exhibition, President Pezeshkian talked to exhibitors to get first-hand information on the latest activities and achievements as well as technologies developed by knowledge-based companies in the agriculture sector.
The 14th Specialized Exhibition of Agriculture and Related Industries opened on December 21, running for six days.
45 firms are taking part in the exhibition that showcases North Khorasan's capabilities in producing a diverse range of agricultural and horticultural products, livestock and poultry, agricultural equipment, and related processing industries.
The northeastern province has 344,000 hectares of agricultural land. Over 80,000 people work in the province’s agriculture sector, making up the highest number of employees compared with other provincial sectors.
Agricultural products from North Khorasan account for 1.1% of Iran's total agricultural GDP, with 70% of these products being suitable for storage, preservation, and processing.
