Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has stressed the need for a structured and coherent approach to the development of artificial intelligence (AI), urging Minister of Information and Communications Technology Sattar Hashemi to develop the Iranian structure of AI, using international experiences.
“In the field of artificial intelligence, it is essential to pay attention to international experiences and apply useful cases in our country after examining successful international achievements,” the president said on Sunday at a cabinet session.
He also called for a centralized structure for artificial intelligence instead of developing it separately by each organization and department.
“We must work in a centralized manner, drawing from valuable international experiences, and subsequently take action with proper planning and management, utilizing resources effectively,” he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, President Pezeshkian referred to his recent visit to a scientific exhibition, where he said he met groups who had little knowledge of their target market and competitors, and were unaware of who should buy their products.
Such an approach could make those groups suffer losses, he said, stressing that action is needed to help the groups and individuals active in tech market.
