Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian ordered relevant officials to speed up efforts in the aftermath of a coal mine blast in the city of Tabas, South Khorasan Province.
The president on Sunday (Sesptember 22) instructed the ministers of interior, industry and health, as well as the governor general of South Khorasan Province to investigate the incident.
Pezeshkian ordered swift action to provide assistance to the injured people and sympathize with the families of those killed in the tragic incident.
Dozens of workers lost their lives in the incident caused by a methane gas explosion in two blocks of the mine on Saturday evening. The blast was caused by a gas leak at the coal mine in Tabas located in eastern Iran.
