Expanding cooperation with neighboring countries, the development of Iran’s southern and underprivileged provinces, as well as using capacities of blue economy are among the top priorities of the 14th government, President Masoud Pezeshkian has said.
He made the comments on Tuesday afternoon in separate meetings with members of assemblies of lawmakers representing the provinces of Hormozgan as well as Sistan-and-Baluchestan in the Iranian Parliament (Majles).
President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that the development and empowerment of the southern and underprivileged provinces of Iran as well as the expansion of cooperation with neighboring countries are among the top priorities of his government.
He stressed the need for implementing infrastructure projects in the southern regions of the country, saying that problems faced by those regions should be resolved through appropriate use of capacities of blue economy.
Pezeshkian meanwhile called for outmost efforts to realize the goals of the National Vision Document which he said is a comprehensive program prepared by experts and the elite in cooperation with Parliament, the government and the Expediency Council.
The president emphasized the importance of national unity in the path of development, noting that the country belongs to all. It is wrong to sideline qualified individuals due to differences but employ incompetent people only because of sharing the same thoughts, he added.
On the development plan of Makran region in Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province, Pezeshkian said that he personally follows up on the issue, as the project helps revive the country’s north-south corridors that marks a significant step towards national development.
Further in his remarks, the president explained that deepening economic relations with neighboring countries is among the top priorities of his government, citing as an example the agreements reached during his September visit to Iraq.
These measures can offer help in neutralizing unjust sanctions against Iran, Pezeshkian said.
