The president stated, "America and the western countries, with a contradictory and dual approach, support a regime that does not adhere to any international law and regulations and does refrain from committing any criminal act in the region, and regrettably, try to convince the countries that are targets of such actions to self-restraint".

Stressing reservation of Iran's right to respond appropriately to crime of Zionist regime/ As long as Western support continues, Zionists' crimes will also continue/ If Westerners seek to prevent insecurity in region, they should immediately stop supporting Zionists

Dr Masoud Pezeshkian answered the phone call of French President Emmanuel Macron, who expressed concern about the escalation of inflammation in the region following the terrorist act of the Zionist regime by martyring Ismail Haniyeh, the Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, and requested restraint on the side of Iran, he said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always played a pivotal role in establishing peace, stability and security in the region and the world and preventing tension, insecurity and war, but the Zionist regime, with its criminal and terrorist actions against the oppressed and defenceless people of Gaza and also, the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh, as an official guest of the Islamic Republic of Iran, seeks to ignite a fire in the region, and unfortunately, the United States and Western countries have supported this regime in committing crimes, genocide and terror instead of condemning it".
Emphasising that Iran reserves the right to respond appropriately to these measures, the president criticised the passive behaviour of the United States and Western countries after the Zionist attack on the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus and the assassination of the Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas in Tehran, and stated, "America and the western countries, with a contradictory and dual approach, support a regime that does not adhere to any international law and regulations and does refrain from committing any criminal act in the region, and regrettably, try to convince the countries that are targets of such actions to self-restraint".
Dr Pezeshkian continued by emphasising that as long as the Zionist regime, with the political, financial, weapons and media support of the United States and Western countries, carries out genocide, crime and terror, the region and the world will not see stability, security and peace, adding, "If America and Western countries really want to prevent war and insecurity in the region, to prove this claim, they must immediately stop selling weapons and supporting the Zionist regime and force this regime to stop the genocide and attacks on Gaza and accept a ceasefire".
The President emphasised, "The Islamic Republic of Iran considers avoiding war and trying to establish world peace and security as one of its basic principles, but within the framework of international treaties and laws, it will never remain silent in the face of violations of its interests and security".
