Following his official travel plans to Pakistan, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi met with Mr Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, at the residence of the President, and while expressing hope that this trip will be a step towards developing relations, he said that the role of parliaments of the two countries in facilitating and accelerating the promotion of relations between the two countries is important and effective.
Dr Raisi stated that there are two ways, surrendering or resisting the hostility of the enemies, and added, “In Palestine, some people took the path of compromise and some took the path of resistance, which the cost of compromise is much higher than resistance. On the one hand, the Islamic Republic of Iran did not leave diplomacy and the negotiation table, and on the other hand, it chose the option of resistance and standing against the pressures and sanctions of the Americans and did not give up on its rights, as a result, today we are witnessing a 6% growth in Iran's economy, and American officials have admitted that the policy of maximum pressure against Iran has failed”.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also welcomed Dr Raisi on behalf of himself and various Pakistani parties in this meeting and stated, “None of the Pakistani parties, whether they are aligned with the government or opposition parties, are against friendly relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran”.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan described the cooperation, understanding and sharing of opinion between the officials of the two countries as one of a kind, and stating that Iran's friendship group has the largest number of members in the Pakistan Parliament, he clarified, “Pakistan is both interested in developing relations and needs to develop cooperation in the fields of energy, development of border markets, economic cooperation and trade interactions with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Parliament of Pakistan is ready to take practical and effective steps to remove any obstacles or problems in the way of strengthening relations between them”.
