The President emphasised on expanding the use of wastewater in various industrial and agricultural sectors that have the possibility to use it and said, "The operation of 17 trillion tomans of the project that was carried out today creates the hope that 19 trillion tomans of new contract, which was signed in the sector of using wastewater in industry and agriculture, will be put into operation as soon as possible”.
Speaking on Thursday morning, during the inauguration ceremony of Water and Sewerage Plans of Tehran Province, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi described and clarified the issue of resource management and water consumption, especially with regard to climate changes and the reduction of precipitation and the expansion of consumption, which is very important, adding, "The limitation of the country's water resources requires that an adequate management follows the supply and consumption of drinking water, agriculture and industry of the country”.
Appreciating the Minister of Energy and the officials of this ministry who have taken good steps since the beginning of the Popular Administration to improve the management and promotion of the country's water resources, the President added, "Considering the measures taken, including water supply to 5 thousand villages out of a total of 10 thousand villages, promises that the government's plans in the field of water supply and management will be realised”.
Emphasising the importance of managing the reduction and optimisation of agricultural water consumption in addition to increasing the efficiency of water consumption in this sector, Dr Raisi said, "The expansion of subsurface irrigation has started in different parts of the country and has had acceptable results”.

Referring to the statistics presented that the water supply volume of the Ministry of Energy has exceeded one billion cubic meters despite the planning of 700 million cubic meters of water supply, while appreciating the efforts made in this field, Dr Raisi noted, "The establishment of this wastewater monitoring centre is also one of the measures that was necessary to monitor and manage the consumption and treatment of wastewater, which, thanks to God, has come to fruition today”.
The President also said, "Although the situation of water resources has improved with these rains, this does not mean that all the water shortages in the country will be solved, and while giving thanks to God, the optimal use of water should be followed with more seriousness; We should not allow water tension to arise in any province, including Tehran”.
