In his fifth Ramadan meeting, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi had a discussion with a group of clerics of seminaries, imams of congregations and elites of the clerical community on Sunday afternoon.
In this meeting, the President described the intellectuals and superior talents as a valuable asset for the country and said, "The government has always considered the seminaries as think tanks, companion and support and emphasises on using this capacity.
Referring to the importance of mosques and the various political, social and cultural functions of this holy institution, Dr Raisi emphasised the necessity of using the system of statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution regarding the administration of mosques and said, "In addition to paying attention to the function of mosques, the issue of imams and using the capacity of effective people in this important position should be given special attention".
In another part of his speech in the gathering of clerics, the President gave an overview of the government's actions during the past two and a half years in order to solve the country's problems at the time of the establishment of the Popular Administration and said, "The popular Administration started its work with high inflation and despite many doubts, by trusting in God and trusting in the country's assets, while identifying the main roots of inflation, including the growth of liquidity, budget deficit and disharmony and bank overdrafts, acted to control and solve these problems, and in this regard, the growth of liquidity from 42% decreased to 26%, in the first year the budget deficit of 480 trillion tomans without borrowing from the central bank and printing money was compensated by increasing production and creating wealth, and some irreparable financial institutions were also dissolved".
The President added, "Based on the measures taken by the government, fortunately, all inflation indicators are decreasing, so that the monthly inflation reached 1.2% in February, point-to-point inflation decreased from 55% in April this year to 35%, and the annual inflation also decreased".
Dr Raisi further referred to the continuous efforts of the enemies to disrupt the economic stability and prevent the growth and development of the country's economy and stated, "With the determined will of the resilient nation and the Popular Administration to strengthen the foundations of the country's economy, there is definitely a very bright future ahead of the Iranian nation".
