The President described cultural capability as one of the important elements of power generation for the country, like defence and economic capabilities, and said, "The efforts of the country's young people for technological advancements are also highly capable of being depicted, just like the achievements of the Sacred Defence era".
Speaking in a cordial meeting with culture and art professionals on Friday afternoon, after listening to the views and opinions of 6 artists in the fields of poetry, cinema, calligraphy, music and literature, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi delivered a speech and described cultural capabilities as defensive and economic capabilities.
The President also described the promotion of art and culture as a source of pride, honour and promotion of the country, and referring to the significant scientific, industrial, cultural and artistic advances that have been achieved thanks to the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he stated, "Regardless of the fact that these advances were obtained during the period of which government, they should be depicted by art so that advanced and technological Iran can be introduced to the world"
Referring to the role of artists in portraying some of the honours created during the Sacred Defence era, Dr Raisi described the efforts of young people to achieve technological advancements in the country as one of the other areas that have a high ability to be portrayed.
The President urged those involved in cultural and artistic fields to take great steps to crystallise the sublime effects of the scientific, cultural and artistic achievements of this country by relying on the valuable assets of this nation.
Dr Raisi continued describing financial and legal support of artists as one of the duties of the government and the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and added, "Artists also have a duty to give peace and hope to the society, especially in the young generation".
The President described generalisation of support for Palestine to the whole world after the recent events in Gaza as a sign of insight and awareness of the Iranian nation and said, "The 45-year support of the Iranian nation to Palestine is a proof of the truth and correctness of this nation's positions in correctly diagnosing the cancerous tumour of the Zionist regime".
At the end of the meeting, Dr Raisi stated that the government truly respects the people of culture and art as the pride of the country, and clarified, "The opinions and views expressed by the people of culture and art are valuable and useful for the government".
