In a meeting with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Dr Raisi referred to the mutual capacities of Iran and Russia, especially the Republic of Tatarstan, to improve the level of cooperation in various economic, industrial, scientific, knowledge-based activities and tourism, calling the implementation of the economic agreement between the countries of the Eurasian region a suitable field for development of relations.
On Wednesday evening in a meeting with Mr Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi referred to the mutual capacities of Iran and Russia, especially the Republic of Tatarstan, to improve the level of cooperation in various economic, industrial, scientific, knowledge-based activities and tourism, calling the implementation of the economic agreement between the countries of the Eurasian region a suitable field for development of relations.
Referring to the role of the President of Tatarstan in the strategic management of the relations between the Russian Federation and the Islamic world, the President emphasised the use of this capacity in interfaith cooperation and religious education in the field of introducing pure Islam and improving Russia's relations with the Islamic world as much as possible and added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is fully prepared to develop economic relations with all republics under the Russian Federation, including Tatarstan”.
Dr Raisi mentioned the strategic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation, along with the common view of the two countries in the bilateral, regional and international arenas, as other favourable areas for the development of Iran's relations with Russia and the Republic of Tatarstan, and stated, “Negation of unilateralism, preservation of independence and standing against the domination system is considered as one of the common approaches of Iran and Russia and a suitable platform for closer relations between the two countries”.
Dr Raisi described the current situation in Gaza as a symbol and mirror of the current unjust structure ruling the world and stated, “Genocide and crimes against humanity taking place in Gaza have made the necessity of cooperation to replace the current unjust structure with a just order even more necessary”.
In this meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, thanked Dr Raisi for his attention to strengthening regional relations and cooperation, by presenting a detailed report of his travel plans to Tehran, called for holding an exhibition of Iranian products in the Republic of Tatarstan and other Russian republics.
