While expressing his satisfaction with the significant growth of Iran-Turkmenistan relations in recent years, especially the increase in trade volume, the President emphasised the need to speed up the implementation of the important agreements of the meeting of the joint commission for economic cooperation of the two countries in the field of energy, transportation and transit.
In a telephone conversation with Mr Serdar Berdimuhamedow, the President of Turkmenistan, on Tuesday evening, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi expressed his satisfaction with the significant growth of the relations between the two countries in recent years, especially the increase in the volume of trade, stressing on the need to speed up the implementation of the important agreements of the meeting of the Joint Commission of Economic Cooperation in the field of energy, transportation and transit.
While announcing the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of electricity and gas, Dr Raisi also emphasised the development of cooperation between Tehran and Ashgabat in the transport and transit sector by utilising the capacity of Iran's southern ports, including Bandar Abbas and Chabahar Port.
The President also referred to the historical and civilisational background of the two countries and the availability of the ground for further promotion of cultural interactions between the two nations, and announced Iran's readiness to hold a joint cultural program with Turkmenistan and honour common cultural figures and personalities.
In another part of this conversation, Dr Raisi stated that today what is being done to the oppressed people of Gaza by the Zionist regime and the United States has deeply affected and angered not only all the Muslims of the world, but also all the people of the world. He also emphasised defending the oppressed and standing against oppressors as one of the sublime teachings of the school of Islam and the front of humanity and emphasised the necessity of using all capacities to help the oppressed people of Gaza.
In this telephone conversation, Serdar Berdimuhamedow, the President of Turkmenistan, while expressing his satisfaction with the growing trend of relations between the two countries in various political, economic and cultural sectors, as well as appreciating the active and effective participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the joint meeting of the Economic Commission of the two countries and side exhibitions of this meeting, emphasising the country's readiness to expand the level of cooperation and implement the agreements made in the energy, transportation, transit and cultural sectors.
