The President stated, "Iran and Cuba have good capabilities and achievements in the field of nanotechnology and biotechnology, and the exchange of these capacities can have many fruits for the two countries, and the cooperation documents signed today will facilitate these cooperation and raise their level".
Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, in a joint press conference with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, described his visit to Tehran after 22 years as a turning point in the development of relations between the two countries and the two nations, and stated, "Tehran and Havana have a common view in many fields".
Pointing out that I had constructive discussions and consultations with the President of this country during my visit to Cuba, the President added, "In addition to the Presidents, the members of the high-ranking delegations of the two countries also discussed issues of interest".
Dr Raisi described the relations between Iran and Cuba as always friendly and developing after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, adding, "The two countries have good cooperation in the field of science and technology, one of the effects of which was the development of a vaccine with the participation of Cuba as a successful cooperation".
The President stated, "Iran and Cuba have good capabilities and achievements in the field of nanotechnology and biotechnology, and the exchange of these capacities can have many fruits for the two countries, and the cooperation documents signed today will facilitate these cooperation and raise their level".
Dr Raisi also referred to the capacities of the two countries in the fields of agriculture, mining, energy and other fields and said, "The high officials of the two countries have a serious will to develop relations and improve the level of cooperation between them".
The President continued by saying that today with the visit of the honourable President of Cuba, we are witnessing the opening of a new field of cooperation between the two countries, and noted, "One of the serious commonalities between the two countries is standing against the voracity of the colonial system. Cuba has been standing against American hegemony and voracity for many years, and this resistance of the Cuban people and government is commendable".
Pointing out that both the nations of Iran and Cuba have been sanctioned by United States for standing up against their voracity, Dr Raisi said, "The idea of the Americans and the hegemony system is that the imposition of sanctions can stop our countries or force us to surrender. This is the negligence of the domination system and a miscalculation like all the other miscalculations by them who think that by imposing sanctions, they can force the nations that decided to stand up against the voracity of the domination system to back down".
The President considered the strengthening of cooperation and the exchange of capacity between the countries under sanctions as effective solutions to neutralise the sanctions and added, "In the negotiations we had in Cuba and today in Tehran, we decided to improve relations between the two countries in various fields, which is one of the important ways to neutralise sanctions".
Dr Raisi further stated, "Today, what causes us and all the nations of the world to regret is that the Palestinian people, who want to defend their homeland and their lives, have been attacked by enemies, and the Zionist regime, with its racist entity, is engaged in genocide and crimes against humanity in Palestine and kills women and children".
Referring to the martyrdom of more than 6,000 children and 4,000 defenceless and innocent Palestinian women, and the destruction of a large number of houses and the displacement of the people of Gaza by the Zionist regime, the President stated, "These crimes have caused everyone's regret, and we too, in the negotiations with the honourable President of Cuba, emphasised supporting the Palestinian people".
Dr Raisi added, "More unfortunate than what is being done by the Zionist regime is the support of America and the West for these horrible crimes. How do those who claim human rights support these crimes against humanity? Also, more unfortunate than these crimes and the Westerners' support for it is the inefficiency of the international system, which could not stop the war machine that the Americans provided to the Zionist regime".
The President noted, "The United Nations, the Security Council, the Arab League and many human rights unions and organisations have lost their effectiveness. Today, humanity is witnessing the ineffectiveness of international organisations that claim to defend the oppressed".
Dr Raisi said, "In the negotiations with the respected President of Cuba, we reached the point that this unjust world system must end and we should seek to form a just world system in the light of which we can defend the oppressed".
The President continued, "We both agree that a coalition must be formed with the participation of all aligned countries to support the oppressed and powerful Palestinian people in different continents in order to support the rights of the Palestinian people".
In the end, Dr Raisi also stressed that the officials of the departments related to the cooperation documents signed between Iran and Cuba in both countries should follow up the implementation of these documents seriously so that their positive and constructive effects will be shared by the two nations as soon as possible.
In this press conference, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said that this visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran has a great significance for us and said, "I promised my brother Mr President that I would visit Iran before the end of the year and we did it today; This visit is in line with the other meetings that the high-ranking delegations of the two countries have made in order to realise the excellent cooperation between the two countries".
The President of Cuba considered this meeting to be in line with the continuation of cooperation that was agreed upon during Dr Raisi's visit to Havana and added, "These meetings will help to diversify and develop the historical relations and cooperation that have been going on between the two countries for a long time; historical relations that are based on respect and solidarity and are more than 40 years old".
He stated, "This visit is a reaffirmation that the Islamic Republic of Iran is our friend and brother country in West Asia and we seek to realise the ambitious goals that are based on our historical relations ".
The President of Cuba stated, "These successful experiences allow us to establish a strategy based on resistance economy and creativity, which will provide us with the possibility of establishing constructive cooperation in strategic areas such as energy, food production, health, science and technology".
Emphasising the position of Cuba in condemning the meddling actions of the United States of America in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said, "Cuba expresses its support for the legitimate right of the Islamic Republic of Iran to determine its own destiny and exercise the right to sovereignty, and expresses its appreciation for the comprehensive support of the Islamic Republic of Iran from Cuba on the way to fight against the oppressive blockade of the United States".
The President of Cuba also condemned the genocide against the Palestinian nation and stressed the need to try to stop these crimes immediately.
