The high officials of Iran and Iraq described the performance of the United Nations and international institutions a failure in fulfilling their duty to protect the rights of the Palestinian people and emphasised that it is now the duty of the nations of the region, Muslims and freedom-seekers of the world to help the Palestinian people with cooperation and coordination.
Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and Mr Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, the Prime Minister of Iraq, met and talked bilaterally this Monday morning after holding an official welcoming ceremony in Sa'dabad Historical-Cultural Complex.
In this meeting, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Prime Minister of Iraq, while reviewing the latest developments in Palestine, expressed deep concern about the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, and emphasised the need to immediately stop the attacks and establish a ceasefire, lift the blockade and send relief aid to this region.
Dr Raisi and Shia' al-Sudani also condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime in the killing of women and children, and emphasised the responsibility of international institutions and legal bodies towards these crimes and discussed ways to create a global consensus to stop the war.

In this meeting, Dr Raisi described the developments in Palestine and the crimes of the Zionist regime as confirming the approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran in defending the rights of the Palestinian people and confronting the crimes of the Zionist regime and added, "Although the United States is encouraging the Zionists to the massacre of the oppressed people of Gaza, the global demonstrations against these crimes showed that the approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran is approved by the nations".
In this meeting, the Iraqi Prime Minister also presented a report of his consultations with various world authorities about the developments in Palestine.
In another part of this meeting, The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Prime Minister of Iraq reviewed the latest status of bilateral understandings and agreements, and emphasised the improvement of the level of commercial and economic cooperation and interactions between the two countries.
