In continuation of the plans of the third day of his trip to New York, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi had a meeting with Mr Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, on Wednesday evening local time which was held at the hotel where the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran is staying.
In this meeting, the President described the very good progress of Iran and Malaysia in scientific, technological and industrial medicine fields as a suitable platform for developing interactions and increasing the level of cooperation between the two countries.
The President continued by emphasising the necessity of activating the Joint Economic Commission of Iran and Malaysia to investigate ways to increase cooperation and also remove existing obstacles, the President considered the formulation of a comprehensive long-term cooperation program between the two countries as a necessary platform and an effective measure in the comprehensive promotion of relations between the two Muslim countries.
Dr Raisi also mentioned the issue of culture as one of the very important capacities for expanding the relations between the two countries and added, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is interested in developing its cultural relations with Malaysia in addition to the development of economic and commercial relations".
In this meeting, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, while expressing his country's interest in developing bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, praised Iran's significant progress in the fields of medicine, pharmaceuticals, science and technology, and military.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia continued to emphasise the development and generalisation of bilateral cooperation to cooperation in the form of regional and international alliances and said, "We deeply believe that no foreign intervention should prevent cooperation between the two Muslim countries of Iran and Malaysia".
