The President stated that yesterday's ignorance has appeared today in a different form, equipped with tools and equipment and a media empire in the form of modern ignorance in human society, and clarified, "Just like yesterday when the pure blood of Hussein bin Ali (AS) was the source of developments and dispelled ignorance from the society, today also the pure blood of our martyrs with the blessed name of Hussein bin Ali (AS) has dispelled modern ignorance and will continue to do so".
During his trip to South Khorasan province, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi attended the passionate gathering of Arba'een mourners in Birjand city, and said that this gathering is a manifestation of the love and affection to Imam Hussein (AS), saying, "Those who are present in these magnificent gatherings today want to say that if they had not been in Karbala on the day of Ashura to help Hussein bin Ali (AS) are shouting their support for him".
The President added, "The enemies of religion wanted to keep the memory and name of Hussain (AS) and Ashura to be the day of the end, but God's will was that Ashura be the day of the beginning and the epic of Ashura, instead of staying in Karbala, will be told in the words of H.H. Zeynab (AS) and Imam Zain ul-Abedin (AS)".
Dr Raisi stated that today Ashura is linked to all hearts and all times, and stated, "Ashura is a symbol and manifestation that the path of Imam Hussein (AS) will not be lost and Arba'een is a banner so that Ashura does not stay in Karbala and the message of freedom, independence and God's desire to bring Hussein (AS) to humanity".
The President asked why Ashura should be kept alive and why all the prophets and divine saints have tried in this direction and added, "Ashura was and will be the source of all developments in human history and the origin of all uprisings, movements and revolutions".
Dr Raisi stated that Imam Hussein (AS) gave his blood to remove ignorance from human society, adding, "The philosophy of Ashura and the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) is that man gains the power of analysis and insight, distinguishing friend from enemy and the right way from the wrong way".
The President stated, "The society should have stayed with Hussein (AS) that day, but the enemies of religion and truth spread ignorance in the society with their propaganda power and replaced the truth with false and the false with truth".

Referring to the interpretation of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution that Martyr Soleimani is more dangerous to the enemy than General Soleimani, Dr Raisi added, "Today, the survival of the enemies is endangered by the traces of the pure blood of the martyrs, because these bloods are awakening and human-building".
Pointing out that the common point of Shiites and Sunnis, but also the followers of all Abrahamic religions, is the love for Hussein bin Ali (AS), he emphasised, "The message of Imam Hussein (AS) for us is a life with dignity, which is a lesson for humanity".
In another part of his speech, the President referred to the start of the infrastructure work of the Nahbandan-Birjand-Qaen-Yunesi railway, while appreciating the efforts of all involved, expressing hope that this project will be built as soon as possible.
Addressing all government managers in all departments and organisations, the President added, "The greatest honour for me and you is to be a servant of the people. I want all of you to pay attention to the recommendations of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution about "being from the people and being with the people".
