Dr Raisi leaves Tehran for Kenya

At the official invitation of his Kenyan counterpart, the President left Tehran for Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, with the aim of improving the level of relations with friendly and aligned countries, diversifying export destinations, and laying the groundwork for strengthening political and economic cooperation.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi was seen off by the First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, and in the presence of Hojatoleslam val-Moslemin Mohsen Qomi, the International Deputy of the Office of the Supreme Leader and a group of cabinet members, left Tehran to the Kenyan capital Nairobi.

Uganda and Zimbabwe will be the next destinations of the President's regional visit to the African continent.

The official welcome and bilateral meeting of the Presidents, holding a joint meeting of high-ranking delegations of the two countries, signing cooperation documents and explaining the results of official consultations in a joint press conference are part of Dr Raisi's plans for his trip to Kenya.

This is the first visit of an Iranian President to African countries after 11 years, which is carried out in line with the comprehensive, balanced and convergence-based foreign policy at the same time as the economic multilateralism of the 13th Administration, with the aim of increasing Iran's presence in the import market of about $600 billion of the African continent.
