The plan to transfer water from Kurdistan's Azad Dam to the Sanandaj treatment plant was officially opened and put into operation in the presence of the President.
The water supply project from the Kurdistan Azad Dam water transfer system to the Sanandaj treatment plant was one of the half-finished projects of the province, the implementation of which was started early in 2021, and by the end of the 12th Administration, it had progressed only 15%, but in the 13th Administration, its implementation was prioritised.
850 billion Tomans have been spent for the implementation of this project, which was implemented in one of the most uneven and difficult areas of the country in terms of topography.
By inaugurating this project, in addition to significantly improving the quality of drinking water and transferring at least 57 million cubic meters of safe water to Sanandaj city, the sustainability of drinking water will be ensured until the horizon of the year 1425.
