In response to the phone call of the President of Poland Andrzej Duda on Wednesday afternoon, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi described Iran's relations with both sides involved in the war in Europe as historic and comprehensive, and by rejecting some undocumented claims about Iran's positions, he considered it the result of the biased policies of Western countries, led by the United States, against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and clarified, "Iran's definite position since the beginning of the war in Europe has been opposition to conflict and war".
Referring to the 8-year and damaging war that was imposed on Iran by the United States and some European countries under the influence of Saddam Hussein, Ayatollah Raisi emphasised, "No country has the motivation to oppose war as much as Iran, so the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to use all his extensive capacities, including in the diplomatic field, to end the war in Europe".
The President described Iran's hosting of Polish refugees from the World War II as one of the milestones in the relations between the two nations and something that shows the vision and strategy of the Iranian nation in standing by the oppressed, and emphasised, "In the current situation, both Tehran and Warsaw should seek to improve the level of economic and commercial interactions by providing appropriate solutions".
In this telephone conversation, Andrzej Duda, the President of Poland, referred to the long history of his country's friendly relations with Iran, and described the hospitality of the Iranian people to the Polish refugees of World War II as a sign of the depth of friendship between the two nations and countries, and noted, "Poland always appreciates the kindness and altruism of Iranian people".
Stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always sought to expand and strengthen peace and stability in the world, the President of Poland called for the improvement of the level of cooperation between the two countries in the bilateral and international fields.
