The Presidents of Iran and Tajikistan, while congratulating each other on Eid al-Fitr, stressed the need for coordination between the two countries to ensure security in the region.
In a telephone call with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi congratulated the government and people of Tajikistan on Eid al-Fitr and said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the security and prosperity of the people of Tajikistan is the same as the security and happiness of the Iranian people".
Emphasising the need to develop security coordination between the two countries, the President added, "Iran is concerned about the security situation in the region, especially in Afghanistan".
Expressing satisfaction with the expanding economic relations between the two countries, Dr Raisi invited the President of Tajikistan to visit Iran and described the visit as effective in improving the level of bilateral and regional interactions between Tehran and Dushanbe.
In this telephone conversation, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon thanked Dr Raisi for inviting him to visit Tehran, and congratulated Ayatollah Raisi and the people of Iran on the arrival of Eid al-Fitr.
