Speaking at the opening ceremony of 4 petrochemical projects in South Pars on Sunday, Dr Rouhani said: "Today, it has been proved that the path to Iran's progress is paved".

Stating that Iran is capable of exporting 3 million tonnes of wheat, he said: "Iran has long been importing wheat but this year, we can export 3 million tonnes of wheat and it is necessary that the mechanisms for exporting such products be provided".

"Increasing the production of strategic weapons and increasing our country's strategic reserves led to successful negotiations," the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran added.

Groundwork is set for developing exports, Dr Rouhani said, adding: "Developing trade ties with the neighbouring countries is a priority for the government".

He also went on to refer to transit corridors and said: "Transit corridors through railroads and roads will stretch to the Black Sea".

Capital, technology and production are the bases of entrepreneurship, said the President adding: "Despite the fact that we were short of credit, we were able to deposit $40bn in the National Development Fund".

He also said that development and reform in the banking system lay the ground for economic development, adding: "The petrochemical industry is one of the relative advantages of our country's industry".

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Hassan Rouhani also said: "We can be a hub in the region in the field of electricity with the process of investment and production we have after the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)".

Stating that the sanctions were aimed at crippling our country's economic power, he said: "Today, we succeeded in returning back to our position and power we had in oil industry because a country that is present in the oil and gas market is powerful".

"Modernisation of air and rail industries is happening at the same time," said the President continuing that developing transit capacities mean the stability of economic power.

He also went on to say that the people of Iran in year 1392 removed many obstacles on Iran's path to development, saying: "We have to stand together again for Iran's more respect".
