President Rouhani met with state directors and managers of organs on the advent of Nowruz and said: "Promoting 'job-generating production' is a religious and national duty, showing respect for the revolution".

Speaking on Monday in Tehran, he said: "The government is aimed at creating over 700,000 jobs in the new year".

Congratulating the new year, he continued: "Employment is one of the most important economic, social and security-building issues of the country and if people feel that employment is on the right track, peace and hope will spread in the society".

He also referred to the government's efforts in the past years for creating jobs, adding: "Last year, we could generate 700,000 jobs but to increase this figure, we need to boost attempts with regard to the accumulated workforce looking for jobs".

On the government's efforts and achievements in economic fields, such as lowering inflation rate, boosting job creation, and attracting foreign investment, he said: "Our goal in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was to remove the shadow of threats from the country and break the chains of unjust and imposed sanctions on Iran".

He then mentioned the attempts made in the field of health and treatment and said: "Considerable developments in the field of health and treatment, increasing the number of hospital beds in different parts of the country, facilitating access to various kinds of medicine and implementing the healthcare insurance plan are the achievements of the Government of Prudence and Hope".

"For the first time in 12 years, we were able to achieve the goals of our 20-year outlook document, which was 8-per cent growth," the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran continued.

He continued: "Self-sufficiency in the field of producing wheat and providing food, natural gas and increasing the export of oil and oil condensates were moves in compliance with the policies of Resistive Economy".

"We need to tell people the truth and create a healthy, clear and competitive conditions for them to be able to choose the best option," Dr Rouhani said.

He went on to say: "In the coming [presidential] election, what is important is maximising people's participation and encouraging everybody to vote".

Describing elections as the key to republicanism and democracy and a principle for legitimacy, he said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran relies on people's votes and elections and our country's long-term plans and goals will be achieved through this process".
