President upon arrival at Sistan and Baluchistan province:

Completing 55 projects, gov't big step in fulfilling its promises to Sistan and Baluchistan/ Authorities must try harder for completing projects

President Rouhani entered Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchistan province in southeastern Iran on Tuesday to open infrastructural and construction projects.

Upon arrival at Zahedan International Airport, Dr Rouhani was welcomed by the Governor General, the Supreme Leader's Representative to Sistan and Baluchistan, and other local officials.

Speaking to reporters in Zahedan, Dr Rouhani said: "I am very happy that I have the honour to be the guest of the brave people of the border province".

He added: "During this visit, important projects such as the projects of gas transfer to Zahedan, which was one of the great wishes of the people of the province, will be realised".

He also expressed hope that all promises made to the people of the province be fulfilled quickly.

The President also said: "Based on reports by the authorities, 55 programmes and projects have been completed so far and this is a great step in fulfilling the promises and officials must try harder to fulfil all promises and complete all projects".

Dr Rouhani is set to open a gas project, the second runway of Zahedan Airport and a number of other infrastructural and construction projects.
