President in a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda:

Everybody should voice backing oppressed Palestinian people more clearly/Welcoming further deepening Iran-Uganda ties

"The situation of the region and the world requires that everybody voice supporting the oppressed Palestinian people more clearly," said President Rouhani in a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Rebecca Kadaga.

At the meeting that was held on Wednesday in Tehran, Dr Rouhani added: "Countries willing to safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people must stand with each other and make joint efforts to reach their key goal".

Referring to Iran-Uganda relations and describing it progressive, he said: "The bedrock of Iranian companies' presence in Africa, especially in Uganda, should be prepared more than before through developing banking ties".

At the same meeting, the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Rebecca Kadaga also said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been committed to the Palestinian nation's causes and has made a lot of effort in realising these causes".

"The issue of Palestine is the main issue of all Muslim and freedom-seeking countries and we believe that in defending the Palestinian nation firmly, we need more voices alongside Iran's clear voice," she continued.
