At the meeting that took place on Saturday in Tehran, Dr Rouhani added: "Currently, Iran has good, friendly ties with most Latin American countries, especially Ecuador".

Referring to common viewpoints in regional and international issues, he said: "Major world powers' interference and unilateral approach are the main reasons for instability in different regions around the world".

He also went on to stress that south-south relations should develop, activating major organisations such as Non-Aligned Movement more than before.

"Iran and Ecuador should attempt to further cement and deepen trade, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation," President Rouhani continued.

Iran sees no obstacle on the path of deepening ties, said Rouhani adding: "Today, Iran's private sector and mighty companies are ready to provide Ecuador with technical-engineering services in the field of constructing roads and power plants and we can use the existing potentials to further develop ties between various industrial and energy sectors".

At the same meeting, Ambassador Germán Ortega Almeida also said: "Ties between Iran and Ecuador will always continue to be friendly and developing".
