Speaking to reporters at Mehrabad Airport, Dr Rouhani said: "In the current circumstances of the region, the more we improve relations with the countries of the region and our neighbours, the better we can stand against insecurity, instability and terrorism that have engulfed the region".

In the post-sanctions situation, it was essential to once again review our ties with friend countries, said Rouhani adding: "Sanctions were an obstacle on the way of our close economic ties with friend countries with Iran and today, with the lift of sanctions, our friend countries are also happy that can have economic and investment ties with Iran and benefit from our technical and engineering services".

Stressing the need for facilitating the work of businesspeople and traders, he said: "During the visit to three countries of Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan and meetings with high-ranking officials of these countries, we discussed facilitating visa issuance and, as the next step, removing visa requirements".

On discussions made about banking relations, he also added: "Today, there are good relations between the Central Bank of Iran and those of the three countries and good negotiations were made in this regard".

"During the visits, we also discussed development of ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the fields of tariffs and preferential trade and Iran's membership in the union," Rouhani continued.

He also mentioned agreements and memoranda of understanding in sectors of trade, agriculture, extraterritorial agriculture, technical and engineering services, power plant and dam construction, and cultural, scientific and academic relations.
