Iran determined to develop ties with friend countries, esp. those in EU/JCPOA a big achievement for Iran, EU, world/Stressing cementing banking, insurance cooperation

Referring to capabilities and potentials in Iran and Slovenia, President Rouhani stressed that both sides should attempt to develop, deepen and cement inclusive Tehran-Ljubljana ties.

"Without a doubt, this visit is a turning point in the history of developing ties and cooperation between Iran and Slovenia," said President Rouhani on Tuesday at the meeting of high-ranking delegations of Iran and Slovenia.

He added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to develop its relations with friend countries, especially those in the European Union".

Dr Rouhani added: "Today, the world's expectation is based on the idea that if major countries can resolve and settle a complicated issue by discussion, this model can be used for resolving other issues in the region and the world".

"We believe that we can resolve most of the regional and global issues through discussion and diplomacy," he continued.

President Rouhani also mentioned banking and insurance cooperation and added: "Banking and insurance relations are two foundations for developing economic ties between the two countries and they should develop as well".

"Iran and Slovenia can have good cooperation in different fields such as technical and engineering services, as well as infrastructural, scientific, cultural, academic, bio- and nanotechnology fields," Rouhani added.

He went on saying: "The two countries should attempt to develop Tehran-Ljubljana commercial ties based on their capabilities and potentials".

Iran and Slovenia can deepen relations to act as a bridge connecting the European Union to the countries of the region, said Rouhani, adding: "Developing tourism and interaction between the people of Iran and Slovenia will benefit both countries".

He went on highlighting international cooperation between Iran and Slovenia to resolve global issues, adding: "Today, extremism, violence and terrorism are grave threats to all countries throughout the world and we believe that if these issues are not resolved in the region, they will eventually spread to other parts of the world".

"Everyone should cooperate and consult in settling global issues," he added, describing the issue of the displaced as one of the effects of terrorism.

Referring to the positive role of EU contributing to reaching an agreement between Iran and P5+1, he said: "We all should make the best use of the opportunity that has been achieved by collective effort and cooperation".

 Dr Rouhani described the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action as a great achievement for Iran, EU and the world, saying: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is meeting its commitments and if the other side does so, everyone will benefit from it".

At the same meeting, the President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor said: "Today, an extraordinary chapter in ties between the two countries has begun".

He also described reopening of Slovenia's embassy in Tehran as serious resolve to develop ties with Iran, saying: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has proven that it has the diplomatic skill to resolve isseus and today it is time for us to develop ties to the highest point".

"We should try to increase level of commercial and economic cooperation to more than 5 times," he continued.

He went of referring to JCPOA and said: "We believe that the current process of JCPOA's implementation should continue and both sides live up to their commitments".

I urge all parties to JCPOA to live up to all of their commitments in the negotiations because this agreement is a signal that can help us resolve all international disputes through diplomatic ways and negotiations, he went on saying.

President Pahor also described Iran's role in resolving regional issues and combatting terrorism and extremism and added: "Any kind of international consensus to fight terrorism and Daesh will be ineffective and insignificant".
