Facilitating women’s effective participation in management essential/Developing tourism, reviving rural areas, backing handicrafts key employment opportunities

President Rouhani chaired a cabinet session on Sunday and congratulated Dr Zahra Ahmadipour on her appointment as the new Vice-President and Head of Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organisation, saying: “Facilitating women’s effective participation in management is essential”.

He also highlighted government’s achievements such as returning artefacts back to the country, registering five cultural heritages to the UNESCO and development of tourism and hotels.

Dr Rouhani went on describing employment as a priority for the country and said that developing tourism, reviving rural areas and supporting the handicrafts industry provide key employment opportunities.

At the same session, the National Elites Foundation presented a report to the Council of Ministers about talents coming back to the country.

The Ministry of Agricultural Jihad was also authorised by the council to initialise an agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Mongolia regarding cooperation in the field of animal quarantine and veterinary services.

The council also agreed on signing of plant health and quarantine between the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the People’s Republic of China.

Another agreement that was authorised to be initialised was agreement on commercial maritime navigation between the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the governments of Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
