President in a meeting with Norwegian PM:

Iran welcomes Norwegian companies’ cooperation in energy/Negotiation the ultimate solution to regional issues

“JCPOA is a good opportunity for compensating for the shortcomings in relations between the two countries imposed by the unjust sanctions,” said President Rouhani in a meeting with the Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes Norwegian companies’ cooperation in energy and other economic fields,” said President in the meeting that was held on Wednesday local time on the sidelines of the 71st UN General Assembly in New York.

“Today in the post-JCPOA atmosphere, both countries should take advantage to develop relations and cooperation to the benefit of the two nations”.

He also stressed development of banking, scientific, cultural and technological relations between Tehran and Oslo.

Regional problems need political solutions, said Rouhani adding: “In spite of complications of regional issues, the ultimate solution is a political approach and negotiation”.

President continued: “Tehran and Oslo can have close cooperation and consultation and we believe that if the global community wants the resolve of regional issues, it should put terrorism supporters under pressure”.

Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg also said that her country is determined to cement ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

She added: “JCPOA has made new opening and now it is a good time to deepen ties; therefore, we are determined to take the most advantage of this opportunity”.

“Tehran and Oslo have very good capacities to cooperate in industry and modern technology,” continued Prime Minister Solberg.
