Iran-Switzerland ties should further develop/We can have regional joint ventures

“There is no obstacle in developing Tehran-Bern ties in all fields, especially economic and banking relations,” said President Rouhani in a meeting with the President of Switzerland Johann Schneider-Amman.

“With JCPOA in place, obstacles on the way of economic cooperation are removed and currently the it is essential that the two sides accelerate the process,” said President in the meeting that was held early Wednesday local time on the sidelines of the 71st UN General Assembly.

Stressing banking relations as prerequisite of economic cooperation, Dr Rouhani added: “To develop Iran-Switzerland economic ties, there are good and ample opportunities”.

“European governments, including Switzerland, should assure major banks for cooperating with Iran,” continued Rouhani.

He said that deepening relations between the two countries is beneficial to the two nations and the region, adding: “In Iran, important national and regional projects such as rail networks and port development is in progress, which links the region to Mediterranean and Europe”.

“Iran and Switzerland can have form regional joint ventures,” continued Dr Rouhani.

President of Switzerland Johann Schneider-Amman said: “I want to emphasise once again that we are determined to develop economic, financial and banking relations with Iran”.

I assure you that Switzerland is determined to develop ties with Iran to high degrees, he added.

He continued: “We are ready to cooperate in advance industry and safety of peaceful nuclear facilities”.
