President in a meeting with Norwegian FM:

Tehran welcomes deepening ties with Oslo/Using JCPOA opportunities needs full, quick implementation/Entire world should cooperate to fight terrorism

Iran-Norway relations has been friendly and historical and there is no obstacle in development of Tehran-Oslo ties, said President Rouhani in a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Børge Brende.

“Iran-P5+1 negotiations proved that international issues and disagreements can be solved through conversation,” said Dr Rouhani in the meeting that was held on Wednesday.

He added: “Today after the JCPOA, there is a good opportunity for development of cooperation between Iran and other friend countries, especially Norway”.

He also stressed development of banking relations between Europe and Iran and added: “All sides should be committed to full and quick implementation of what has been agreed upon in JCPOA”.

“Certainly, continuation of consultation between foreign ministers and other officials of Iran and Norway will contribute to further deepening of mutual relations,” Dr Rouhani added.

Tehran welcomes deepening of ties with Oslo in various political, regional and international fields, said President.

On terrorism and extremism, Rouhani said: “It has been revealed to all that if a problem arises in the region, it will eventually spread to other parts of the world, including Europe, and therefore all countries inside and outside the region should cooperate to overcome these problems”.

“Futures of countries should only be determined by the people of that country and any change in any country’s territorial integrity will cause problems,” he continued.

During the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Børge Brende also said that post-JCPOA atmosphere and its opportunities should be used better to develop ties and cooperation between Iran and European countries”.

On the agreements made with Tehran, he said: “We have put into action various ideas for development of ties with Iran and, after a decade, we have issued essential guarantees for economic ties with Iran”.

He also expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate with Iran in fight against extremism, violence and terrorism, especially ISIS, and stressed that ISIS-held regions in Iraq should be fully and quickly liberated and full stability and security be established in the country.
