President in a telephone conversation with Indian PM:

Iran ready to develop strategic ties with India/We will seriously follow developing Chabahar Port

The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to develop its ties with New Delhi to the level of strategic ties, said President Rouhani in a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of India.

“Following up on the process of swift implementation of agreements made regarding Chabahar Port, as well as advancing plans agreed by the two countries is essential,” said President Rouhani during the telephone conversation that was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi.

He also underscored development of joint cooperation in the fields of banking, trade and modern technology between Iran and India.

Mentioning that Iran will seriously follow developing Chabahar Port, Dr Rouhani added: “Iran’s Chabahar Port that connects various countries, including India, Afghanistan and Central Asia, is one of the symbols of Tehran-New Delhi cooperation”.

During the telephone conversation, Prime Minister of India congratulated Eid Al-Fitr to the Iranian nation and government and added: “New Delhi is determined to develop ties with Tehran in all fields”.

Prime Minister Modi also invited President Rouhani to have an official visit to India.
