President while receiving Lithuanian Ambassador’s credentials:

Groundwork set for developing ties with Lithuania

President Rouhani had a meeting with the new Accredited Ambassador of Lithuania to Tehran and said: “With the nuclear negotiations bearing fruit and lift of sanctions, new groundwork is set for developing ties between Iran and Lithuania”.

During the meeting which was held on Tuesday, President Rouhani referred to the economic, cultural, scientific, technological potentials, as well as renewable energies and said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to cement its ties with Lithuania”.

Dr Rouhani also stressed increased interaction between the two countries and said: “Cultural and public interactions such as tourism and teaching Persian and Lithuanian languages in both countries can help further develop the ties”.

At the same meeting, Ambassador Audrius Bruzga congratulated the Iranian nation and government for successfully holding the recent election and also the implementation of JCPOA and said: “Today the time is ripe for developing ties between the two countries and I hope with our Foreign Minister’s visit to Iran we can witness cemented ties in IT, solar and renewable energy and also scientific and academic cooperation”.

On tourism and cultural ties between the two countries, he said: “Interaction between the two nations can deepen the relations”.
