S. Korean President to visit Tehran May 1/Coop. documents to be signed; beginning of a new chapter in Tehran-Seoul ties

President of South Korea is set to visit Tehran on May 1, following an official invitation by President Rouhani, announced the President's Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and Information, Parviz Esmaeili.

“Ms Park Geun-hye will be accompanied by a number of ministers and high-ranking economic officials, as well as owners of major industries of South Korea in her 3-day trip to Iran,” added Esmaeili.

He went on saying: “The two presidents will hold meetings and discuss issues related to development of mutual ties in fields of mutual interest, as well as regional and international issues”.

In this trip, which will last until May 3, she will attend a conference on the ways of development of Tehran-Seoul economic and business ties in the post-JCPOA era and investment opportunities for S. Korean companies in Iran’s economic projects, continued Esmaeili.

Ms Park is the first S. Korean president to visit Iran.
