Italy a pioneer in developing Iran-EU ties/No obstacles in the path of Tehran-Rome ties development/Stressing efforts for putting agreements into action

“Tehran sees no obstacle on the path of developing Tehran-Rome relations,” said President Rouhani in the meeting of high-ranking delegations of Iran and Italy.

In this meeting that happened on Tuesday, Dr Rouhani said: “Today the needed groundwork for further Tehran-Rome ties has been provided and we should tap the capabilities to cement and deepen relations and cooperation between the two countries”.

Mentioning that he chose Italy as the first European country to visit after the implementation of JCPOA, Dr Rouhani added: “Today the required foundation for development of trade, economic, cultural and scientific ties between the two countries has been built”.

Stating that Italian Prime Minister’s trip to Iran in less than 3 months after the Iranian delegation’s trip to Italy as the illustrator of the firm resolve of the two countries for developing ties and cooperation and said: “Today after the lift of sanctions, Italy is a forerunner in development of Iran-EU ties”.

Fostering and supporting cooperation between the private sectors and banks of the two countries is a necessary step to tap the opportunities to the benefit of the nations, adding: “By accelerating and facilitating relations in financial and insurance sectors, other sectors can also develop ties with ease”.

Dr Rouhani continued: “The prominent position of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its security and stability in the region is the best foundation for attracting foreign investment”.

“Iran and Italy have always had good relations with each other in the fields of scientific and academic ties and today prominent Iranian researchers and professors are working in Italian scientific and research centres,” continued the President.

He also stressed that the two countries can boost cooperation in fields related to tourism.

President also said: “Nuclear agreement of Iran and 5+1 countries was a success for all of the countries that believe the solution to international issues is discussion and we should preserve this achievement”.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that WMDs harm the mankind and should be wiped out from the world” added Rouhani.

Describing terrorism as a grave danger for all countries around the world, he said: “Terrorism benefits no one and those who support terrorism should know that all terrorist groups harm the mankind and we should accept the fact that killing of one human of any nationality in any part of the world is unpleasant”.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran referred to WAVE Resolution and continued: “We should be determined to fight against terrorism and extremism in the world and the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to cooperate with all countries to implement the resolution”.

He also underlined unity by all divine religions to confront terrorism and promote peace.

“Iran and Italy should make joint attempts to save humans from massacre, extremism, famine, displacement and hunger” added Rouhani.

In the same meeting, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said: “There is a historical ad deep-rooted bond between the two nations and states and we can cooperate with each other in various fields”.

He also described Iran as the most advanced country in the region regarding cultural, scientific and academic power.

Stating that Iran is the most stable country in the region, he added: “Without Iran’s presence, peace and stability in the region is not possible and there is a need that Iran take part in the international negotiations, due to its civil and regional power”.

“Delaying the start of cooperation will be to the detriment of European countries the most,” continued Renzi.
