President leaves Italy, sets off for France

President Rouhani left Rome for Paris on Wednesday to conclude his trip to Italy and proceed with his European tour.

On the first leg of his European tour, Dr Rouhani entered Italy on Monday to develop Tehran-Rome ties; a trip which concluded with a roadmap for joint cooperation between the two countries.

Before leaving for Paris, President had an interview with reporters and stressed that the joint economic plans of Iran and Italy will go far beyond only two countries and will be beneficial to the region.

In this two-day trip to Italy, Dr Rouhani had meetings with the President and the Prime Minister of Italy, as well as Pope Francis in Vatican.

He and his accompanying delegation also had meetings with Italian business and trade community; a meeting which will further deepen cooperation between private sectors of both countries.
