The expression of people's devotion to Ahl al-Bayt is increasing day by day/ The gas torch will soon be lit in Sistan/ We will pursue the restoration of Zabul water rights with active diplomacy

Speaking on Friday afternoon during his visit to Sistan and Baluchestan among the mourners of Imam Sajjad (AS) in Imam Hussein (AS) Square in Zabul, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said, "When I heard that you hold ceremonies that are reminiscent of the Ashura spirit and consciousness of the people of Sistan, I was encouraged to be among you".

The President added, "This expression of devotion to the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is the great capital of the people of Sistan, which should not be diminished in any way".
Dr Raisi stated, "We intend to follow the issues of different provinces, especially Sistan and Baluchestan, with sensitivity and seriousness, and from the beginning of entering the province I visited different areas and some villages and got acquainted with the situation of villages, farmers and water shortage problems and the condition of the wells".
We know what the problems are, he said, adding, "We can overcome difficulties by using great God-given blessings and investments and trusting in God and self-confidence".
Ayatollah Raisi pointed out, "The men and women of this region have historically been known for their self-confidence. That is, they trusted in what they had. We also have an efficient, valuable and dense human resources in the country and this region. Relying on these resources, we have considered short-term and long-term solutions to solve the problems of the region, especially water scarcity".
The President said that the necessary funds have been provided to increase the productivity of the wells and this work can start from tomorrow, he continued, "Regarding the gas supply to the province, the gas torch in the Sistan region will be lit soon".
"Also, the connection of Zahedan railway to Zabol and the country's railway transportation network is on the agenda. The Minister of Roads has come to the region with previous investigations in this regard and is determined to move this work forward quickly," he said.
The President added, "Another point is the issue of water rights in the region, which neither we nor the people will abandon, but the realisation of this right requires active diplomacy to restore this inalienable right of the people of the region".
Ayatollah Raisi mentioned the activation of border exchanges between the people of this region and the people of the border areas of Afghanistan as another important issue and said, "The activation of border markets can regulate trade between people in the border areas".
The President also said, "The expansion of wind farms, in addition to producing energy for the country, also produces power and can reduce the problems caused by the lack of energy in the country".
Dr Raisi stressed the need to activate the mining capacities of Sistan and Baluchestan as soon as possible, saying, "In addition to the need to expand mining activities in the province, semi-finished projects in the province should be done with the help of revolutionary institutions such as Imam Khomeini Executive Headquarters and the Mostazafan Foundation".
The President said, "I thank all those who have done services in Sistan and Baluchestan, but there is still a lot of work to be done".
Ayatollah Raisi added, "We should be grateful for the blessings such as security, unity and cohesion that God has given to this region and know that the development of the region depends on unity and cohesion".
