There are good capacities to improve the level of Iran's ties with Tanzania, Zanzibar

Speaking on Friday afternoon in a meeting with Job Yustino Ndugai and Zubeir Ali Maulid, the speakers of Tanzania and Zanzibar parliaments, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi described the bilateral relations as friendly and favourable, and said, "With regard to the good potentials and also the deep and historical closeness of our nations, especially with the Shirazi people of Zanzibar, we must improve the level of relations and cooperation”.

The President expressed hope that the parliamentary relations between the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran and the parliaments of Tanzania and Zanzibar would help develop bilateral and regional interactions between the two sides.

In this meeting, Job Yustino Ndugai and Zubeir Ali Maulid, the speakers of Tanzania and Zanzibar parliaments conveyed the congratulatory message of their respective presidents to Ayatollah Raisi, referring to the history of Shirazis in Zanzibar and saying that during the days of Tanzania and Zanzibar independence, one of the active parties was the African Party of Shiraz, which made effective efforts to make the country independent.

The speakers of Tanzania and Zanzibar parliaments expressed hope that in the new era, bilateral relations and interactions will develop, especially in the economic field.
