Ayatollah Raisi: We have serious will to deepen Tehran-Dhaka relations

Emphasising the need to use all capacities to develop Tehran-Dhaka relations, the President said, "In the new term, firm steps will be taken in close cooperation between the two countries."

Speaking in a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Shahriar Alam on Friday, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi referred to the long-standing and cultural relations between Iran and Bangladesh, and said, "We have serious determination for development of relations between the two countries in all fields, especially economy, and we consider taking advantage of the existing capacities in favour of the welfare and progress of the two nations”.

Ayatollah Raisi said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the cooperation and joint investments of the two countries in the development of relations”.

The President also praised Bangladesh for hosting and supporting Myanmar refugees and said, "We hope you will do your best to free the Muslim and oppressed people of Myanmar from oppression".

In this meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Shahriar Alam expressed hope that the relations between the two countries would develop and improve in the new term, adding, "Bangladesh calls on Iran to participate in the path of economic development".
