Speaking on Thursday at the inauguration ceremony of the national projects of the Ministry of Oil and the official start of the crude oil export project from Makran region with the Goreh to Jask pipeline, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, "Oil exports and bank money transfers were the two main battlefields of the enemy against the Iranian nation".

Dr Rouhani added, "The Americans thought that by disrupting the oil industry and preventing Iran's oil exports, as well as creating obstacles to the transfer of money, Iran would not be able to obtain the necessary currency to meet its needs".

The President said that since the beginning of this year, the Central Bank has provided more than $5 billion in foreign currency for essential goods and medicine, saying, "If the country does not have foreign currency, how will it be able to supply essential goods, medicines and medical equipment".

Stating that we have allocated nearly $500 million to buy vaccines from foreign countries and with the increase in vaccine imports, vaccination operations have accelerated and by the end of this government, the target groups will be vaccinated, Dr Rouhani said, "The government has lived up to its promise both areas of fighting coronavirus and sanctions".

The President said that if the parliamentary law had not stopped us, we would have lifted the sanctions before Nowruz, saying, "The government has fulfilled all its duties in the field of sanctions, and in the recent report of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, it is clear what success we achieved".

Dr Rouhani said, "To date, more than 9 million people have been vaccinated and 300 to 400 new vaccines are being given daily, and thus, by the end of this government, not only all people over the age of 65 and people with underlying conditions will be vaccinated, but also people of over the age of 60 will receive vaccines".

We have promised the people that in the last months of the government, with extensive vaccinations, we will largely curb coronavirus and take the necessary measures to lift the sanctions, he said, adding, "The government has kept both its promises and vaccination of people over 60 and those with underlying conditions".

The President continued, "Another great work of the government since the beginning of the year 1399 has been that in addition to providing basic and essential goods to the people, we are also able to engage in massive development projects, as evidenced by the huge $2 billion project that was officially opened today".

Referring to the Supreme Leader's comment on the Goreh-Jask pipeline, which he described as the most strategic plan of the Government of Pudence and Hope and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the President stated, "The Twelfth Government and the Ministry of Oil and the National Oil Company are proud of this huge and important project".

Dr Rouhani went on to point out that at the beginning of the project, we faced sanctions of the enemy, which prevented the delivery of pipes compatible with oil and sour gas to Iran, adding, "These sanctions caused almost all parts, supplies and equipment needed for this project, but 91% of the project was carried out by Iranian technology".

Dr Rouhani stated that the government has provided great services to the people of Khuzestan in the fields of sewage, drinking water supply and restoration of 295,000 hectares of agricultural land.

He said, "Khuzestan is the beating heart of Iran and is important for all Iranians. Due to the widespread drought, a decrease of more than 50% in rainfall and some problems that remain from the past, water stress is bothering the people of this province".

The President said, "I instructed my first vice president to travel to the province tomorrow to personally investigate the problem and help solve it, and from there call me for any help needed".

The President continued, "The people of Khuzestan are vigilant and highly tolerant people who have endured the problems of war for years, and today their account is separate from that of those who misuse the opportunity to make incorrect statements and slogans".

Dr Rouhani said, "Several hundred people who are looking to take advantage of the situation are not all people of Khuzestan".

The president said, "People may be protesting, which is the right of the people and there is no problem in expressing the protests within the framework of the law".

Dr Rouhani added, "It is their natural right of people who tolerate temperatures above 50 degrees to protest, and even if they take to the streets within the framework of the regulations, this is their right".

The President added, "I ask the dear people of Khuzestan to follow up legally if there is a problem and not to allow our enemies and those who are anti-Iranian to take advantage of the unrest and be happy".

"I am sure that the people are aware of this and we will get over this issue soon and the dear people of Khuzestan know that the government is serving them with all its might and facilities," he said.
