President while receiving the new Nigerian Ambassador's credentials:

More Iran-Nigeria coordination, cooperation in int'l fields key to achieve common goals/ Iran, Nigeria have good capacities for cooperation in trade, agriculture, energy, science and technology

Referring to the importance of developing Iran-Nigeria relations, the President said, "I hope that the long-standing relations between the two countries will be further developed by taking advantage of the existing capacities between the two countries and the two nations."

Speaking on Tuesday while receiving the credentials of the new Nigerian Ambassador to Tehran, Dr Hassan Rouhani said that the two countries have good capacities in the fields of trade, agriculture, science and technology, especially energy, saying, "We should take the most advantage of the existing capacities in the interests of the two nations".

Referring to the good cooperation between Tehran and Abuja in international organisations, the President said, "There has always been coordination and cooperation between the two countries in the international sphere, and this cooperation can further strengthen relations and bilateral relations in the direction of common goals".

The new Nigerian Ambassador to Tehran, Yakubu Santuraki Suleiman presented his credentials to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and emphasised Nigeria's commitment to further strengthening relations with Iran, especially in the fields of trade, commerce and agriculture, saying, "Nigeria is willing to develop bilateral relations with Tehran more than before".

The new Nigerian ambassador said that his country could be a big market for Iranian goods, adding, "We welcome the presence of Iranian companies to help develop Nigeria".
