In this meeting, a preliminary report of various agencies, especially the Central Bank and the Plan and Budget Organisation, on the economic situation of the country in the first quarter of this year and the future forecast was presented.

Emphasising the sensitivity and seriousness of the government of Prudence and Hope in providing clear and accurate reports on the economic situation of the country to the people, the President said, "The government considers itself obliged to report its activities to the people clearly and with transparency”.

Emphasising the accurate implementation of this mission, Dr Rouhani added, "Apart from being committed to its promise to the people, the government has relied on the national view of transferring responsibility, and has tried to draw and explain the macroeconomic plan of the country for the future government with a realistic view".

The President said that the efforts and measures of the government to overcome the problems and organise the country's economy must be carefully presented and recorded, adding, "People have the right to know what kind of problems and shocks have caused what kind of problems”

“People should know what ways the government has considered to neutralise the sanctions and overcome the restrictions caused by COVID-19, and it is also necessary for people to know what would be the situation of the country's economy today if sanctions and economic warfare had not been imposed on our country and coronavirus did not appear,” he said.
